Frederick L. Blask
Fred's first credit union experience was back in 1993 when he wanted to take out a loan for a computer (they used to be rather expensive). A family member helped explain the credit union difference and recommended joining one. Years later while making a career change to information technology, he was encouraged by family again to go the credit union way.
In April 2006, he started in Systems Information Support at Corporate Central. During his time with the IT department he was responsible for maintaining network and information security as well as providing IT project management assistance to various departments. In July 2014, he began a new role as Project & Compliance Risk Manager where he oversees the enterprise risk management program. Fred promotes the credit union's overall compliance culture and coordinates various internal audits and exams. His IT background has been beneficial in evaluating areas of risk and compliance with various technology partners and vendors.
In October 2017, Fred was promoted to Vice President Risk Strategy & Execution. His duty is to ensure that Corporate Central is compliant. He is in charge of enterprise risk management, coordinating audits and exams, business continuity planning, incident respondence, strategic initiatives, our third-party oversight program, and BSA, AML, and OFAC compliance. In December 2020, Fred's job description was updated and reflected a title change of Vice President Governance Risk & Compliance. Fred is a NAFCU Certified Bank Secrecy Officer (NCBSO) and he is a NAFCU Certified Risk Manager (NCRM).
Fred has two daughters, who keep him both young at heart and balding on top. When he is not working, Fred enjoys spending time with family, reading comic books, playing and watching sports, and seeing live music.
